Lions from across the globe have gathered together annually since 1917 to celebrate the International Convention. For many Lions and their families, attending the convention has become a yearly tradition, synonymous with the excitement of visiting new places and experiencing other cultures. The convention offers an ideal setting for reuniting acquaintances and making new friends. Lions also learn about other club and district projects, participate in the parade and elections, attend seminars and make personal connections with international leaders and representatives from headquarters.
Online registration is now open for the 92nd Lions Clubs International Convention in Minneapolis July 6 - 10, 2009

** UPDATE **
2009 NJ Lions Convention Update
Convention Preparations: Everything is ready for our participation in the 2009 Multiple District Convention to be held at the Bridgewater Marriott Hotel on May 14th through May 17th. The Golf Outing is under the chairmanship of PDG Frank Magnolia and there are two sponsors for the event. The golf outing will take place at Bunker Hill Golf Course. Please contact PDG Frank as soon as possible to let him know that you will be taking part. His number is908-232-4316. Preparations have been made for the LCIF Dinner, Saturday Morning Breakfast and the Saturday Evening Reception and Grand Ball. The band for the ball will be the Berkleys, which is the same band that we had at last year’s convention.
International Guest: Our International Guest is Past International Director, Terry Graham, from Ontario, Canada. We look forward to having him and his wife as our guests for the weekend.
Hotel Reservation Deadline: The deadline for the special room rate, which has been changed to $95.00 per night instead of $99.00 that was originally quoted, is April 23rd. After this date, the room rate will double.
Exhibits: Letters and applications have been sent to all of last years’ participants, and as of this date we have had 10 applicants. All of the exhibits as well as the pin traders will be in the Ballroom Foyer Area. Tables will be assigned.
Welcome and Registration: The registration area will be in the Ballroom Foyer area. The Host Club will be the Bridgewater Lions Club, and their welcome table will also be in the ballroom foyer.
Seminars: There will be a mini seminar scheduled for Friday. It will be given by PDG Jeff Gans about Pin Trading and will cover the history of pins, how they are made, collected and traded. It is a power point presentation created by Lion International Stamp Club and can be adapted to show additional pins of our state. This should be really neat as so many of are interested in trading pins even though we are not members of an official pin trading group.
Entertainment: We are fortunate to have the GHY Club perform at our convention again this year. Those of you who heard their musical tribute last year will be anxious to hear their new program at our 2009 convention. They have also been asked to perform at the international Convention in Minneapolis in July. We are truly fortunate to have performers of this quality volunteer their time and talent for our enjoyment on Saturday afternoon. We hope that many of you will take advantage of this time to sit back, relax and enjoy the music.
